Six By Six

New to the event this year is the SIX BY SIX: Collaborative Youth Art Project, providing emerging young artists a chance to exhibit in a professional gallery while contributing to the community.

Students grades 3 to 8 were asked to create a 6” x 6” work of art with a theme of NATURE. The finished artwork will be grouped together as a mosaic installation of student art on display at the Cultural Center from Thursday, January 8, 2009 through the opening weekend of You Gotta Have Art, January 31st and February 1st, 2009.

The artwork will be donated to the Cultural Center, which will then offer them for sale at $20 each, with all proceeds supporting the work of the Center. All artwork will be for sale throughout the duration of the exhibit.

A special artists reception for the students will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2009 from 12 to 2pm. Purchasers of art will be entered for the chance to win prizes during a special drawing at the You Gotta Have Art Gala.
